Magic in the everyday: THE MA(D)CHINES invests the banal with the wonderful

I’m going to be honest with you – for all my optimism, carpe diem-ness and willingness to see the best in life, there are times, oh lordy there are times, when real life seem considerably less than magical.

Getting on and off trains on my daily commute, making breakfast, washing clothes, watching TV (OK that’s always kinda fun but let’s pretend it’s boring as bats**t for the purposes of this narrative shall we?) … it’s a little bit humdrum isn’t it?

Yes, you may sigh now with dramatic effect … I’ll wait … all done? Good.

So Tony Zagorios of Yell has heard your beige-coloured existential angst and answered, in fantastically whimsical form, with THE MA(D)CHINES, a very short but eminently imaginative, wonderful film where everyday household appliances come alive in ways so vibrantly and playfully out of the ordinary that you’ll smile at the sheer fun of it all.

Yes, tea making will make you smile like a giddily-happy Cheshire Cat. Imagine that!
