You may think to yourself as you await the arrival of Paul Feig’s reimagined take on Ghostbusters (which hits cinemas this week), which frankly looks exceedingly hilarious, that what would fill in the spot would be a Ghostbusters/Star Wars mash-up.

No? Well you should be thinking that because as Mike Phirman makes brilliantly clear, it would exceedingly, wonderfully, genre-busting funny.

Granted you will likely enjoy it way more than good old Luke Skywalker who, rather than receiving a debilitating electrical blast from the Emperor, ends up with way more proton blasting energy than he bargained for.

Yep folks, Peter Venkman (Bill Murray), Raymond “Ray Stanz (Dan Akroyd) and Egon Spengler (Harold Ramis) end up unloading their phantom-busting firepower not on a spectral entity but good old Luke who is probably how he ended up in a New York City apartment block.

The mash-up between the 1984 Ghostbusters film and 1983’s Return of the Jedi is exceptionally well done and makes you wonder when there will be a crossover between the two franchises.

Let the incessant demanding via social media begin …
