Today one of the finest journalists I have ever seen in action – balanced, articulate and evocative without being sensationalist – died in a helicopter crash last evening, along with his crew, John Bean and Gary Ticehurst. he will be sorely missed in an era of lazy, sloppy journalism for being the real deal.
My heart goes out to his family and friends.
