Time to confess – I was never really a fan of the Bond franchise until it adopted its modern, gritty, dark noir phase, principally in the instalments staring the broodingly handsome Daniel Craig.

Is it wrong to objectify the world’s most iconic spy?

Perhaps, but then he has spent his time in books and movies objectifying an unending line of beautiful women so look at it as simply evening things up.

My admiration for Craig is a suit or piece of swim wear aside, No Time to Die looks to have it all – globe-spanning mission, angry, darkly quirky villain, resigned but quip-ready support people and a willingness to go big or go home.

And to be darkly brooding while doing it.

So, after a substantial COVID-19 caused delay, I am in, ready to enjoy Bond, and yes, Craig, in what is his last outing as Ian Fleming’s hero / anti-hero.

No Time to Die releases on 12 November in Australia and UK and 20 November in USA.
