Another fantastically imaginative postmodern TV show mash-up?

Yes please!

Talented illustrator and artist Adrien Noterdaem who goes by the name of ADN-z on deviantart.com has married the breathless, bloody drama of George R. R. Martin’s Games of Thrones, the current water cooler TV show to end all water cooler shows, to the quirky bright yellow style of perennially popular animated sitcom The Simpsons to brilliantly colourful effect.

It’s part of an ongoing project by the artist appropriately entitled The Simpsonized Project and as his brief introduction to this illustation makes clear, it’s just the start of rendering the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros in Matt Groening’s zeitgeist-embedded image:

“For the Simpsonized project, here is my (first) series about “Game Of Thrones”. More new characters soon …”

I can’t wait to see what else emerges from his virtual studio.

In the meantime, he has also rendered Games of Thrones author George R. R. Martin as a resident of Springfield. Enjoy!

    Funny enough, whilst researching my Bongo Comics article for the 2K13 San Diego Comic-Con Souvenir Book (plug, plug, plug), I learned a bit o’ trivia that shall, someday, set me apart from the rest of the Guinness sucklers at Ye Olde Irish Pub … The Simpsons yellow-skin has an official colour: Pantone #116C. Now you know. Go forth and trivialize!
