Weekend pop art: What would Disney characters look like in the grim world of The Walking Dead?

We are just days, mere days, away from eight more episodes of season 5 of The Walking Dead, a show dedicated to survival, zombie-killing and philosophical musings on the nature of humanity and whether you can return to the person you were before you did what was necessary to survive or whether you are doomed to remain forever altered.

With that in mind, this artwork by talented French artist Kasami-Sensei, who seems to innately know just how Disney characters we know and love might be transformed by a grim day-to-day struggle to not just survive but live, is entirely prescient with his colourful ruminations on the way the unsparing, dog-eat-dog apocalyptic nihilism might affect everyone from Ariel and Eric (The Little Mermaid) to Mulan, Elsa and Anna from Frozen, and even the playful denizens of Toy Story.

It is brilliantly, cleverly imaginative work, the visual equivalent of fan fiction, with evocations of The Walking Dead characters like Michonne, and Beth and Maggie, and of course Rick brought forth by his beautifully-rendered artwork.

You can check more of his impressive work at his Deviant Art site.
